Let Tbe the tension in the rope. Consider the load of bricks, net force = T - (m1)g = T - 14.2g = T - 142 N where g is the acceleration due to gravity, taken to be 10 m/s^2 Hence, T - 142 = 14.2 x 3.33 T = 189 N
